Committee of Management

The Kindergarten is managed by a dedicated group of volunteer parents who oversee the day-to-day aspects involved in running a successful and vibrant kindergarten. This includes (but is not exclusive to) tasks such as:

  • fees, financial management and budgeting

  • fundraising and social events for the Kinder community

  • communication with families via emails, newsletters and on-line platforms

  • maintenance of the grounds and facilities (including working bees)

  • applications for grants and community benefits

It is very important to note that all the educational programming for the children is undertaken by the educators.

We welcome all parents who are interested in taking on a role with the Committee.

Fundraising

Cara Armstrong Kindergarten is a not-for-profit kindergarten that has been serving the community by providing quality kindergarten care for over 50 years.

It is the responsibility of the committee of current parents to run the operational, financial and fundraising aspects of the kindergarten. Although the Kinder does receive some government funding, this does not cover capital expenditure or upgrades as needs arise.

Fees are essential to ensure the running of the kindergarten, as well as various fundraisers throughout the year, many of which are also great social events for the parents of Cara Armstrong.

Working Bees

All families at Cara Armstrong Kindergarten are required to take part in one working bee each year. It is usually only for a couple of hours, on a weekend morning. All dates for the working bees are set early in the year. If it is too difficult to attend a working bee, a levy can be paid instead.
